Course objectives
The existing offer of compulsory or compulsory elective courses at the Faculty of Economics and Business still does not offer students the opportunity to become acquainted with private law and to understand its importance for the functioning of the state and its economy. Therefore, it may be considered appropriate to introduce such an object which focuses precisely on the sphere of (new) private law, as in this field, fundamental structural and content changes have taken place in recent years.

Recodification of private law culminated in the entry into force of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., The Civil Code, Act No. 90/2012 Coll., The Act on Commercial Companies and Act No. 91/2012 Coll., On Private International Law. The aim of the course will be introduced to familiarize students with private law in   a broader context, and its object system, basic principles, defining the status of persons, the basic parameters of absolute and relative property rights and all in-broader context.
Learning outcomes
Students will be given the opportunity to try their orientation in related legislation when applying them on a case by case basis, in the context of practice-oriented exercises.
