Course objectives
The objective of the course is to present basic knowledge of destination management that should be known to provide effective managing (development) of a destination. Moreover, it is essential to point out the important aspects that influence the process of destination management and the existence of the destination management company itself.
At the end of the course students should be able
- to define key terms from the destination management terminology;
- to identify basic specifics of destination management process;
- to apply the knowledge of destination management in practice;
- to analyze a destination management company from the life cycle point of view ;
- to evaluate the development of a destination management company.

Teaching methods
Lessons take form of lectures (once a week) and seminars (once a fortnight). The course also includes a semester paper.

Assessment methods
To sign for the exam, students must fulfil following requirements: 100% attendance at seminars, submission of a semester paper in required quality and attendance of the lecture given by a specialist.
The exam is oral and consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical and covers 5 opened questions (time for preparation 15 minutes). When passing theoritical part on 100%, student is allowed to continue with the second part of the oral exam which is focused on practical questions that verified student’s synthetic thinking. The list of theoretical and practical questions will be available during the semester on IS.
