Course objectives
Informatics in Finance (DSIN) The aim of the course is to present automated information systems for practical use. The subject content includes such Windows software programs as Word, Excel and Access, teaching how to use them. Knowledge of working with individual software products is integrated with their supposed use in lessons of Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Theory. The course covers general principles of working on a network and the basic terminology of information systems. The content covers the relevant topics, essential for distance-learning students to know since they are useful for some other subsequent courses. The course will focus more extensively on information systems in banking and insurance industry, which contributes to the application of the knowledge in students' own practical activity. The course has 2 hours of lecture followed by 2 seminar hours. Examination: semester project, its defence and oral exam
