Course objectives
Bond Analysis (KFANDL) The course aims to explain to students the basic concepts and lead them to understand bonds as a security negotiable on capital markets. Students will be explained the duration and convexity of bonds, use of bonds and the rudiments of bond accounting. The individual lectures will put emphasis on the following: setting a price of a bond, setting a gross and net price of a bond, the concept of duration of a bond, its derivation and the concepts of modified and dollar duration. Students will get explanation of the use of bonds, legal regulations, basic bond accounting both in a commercial bank and entrepreneurs. Further in the course, students will solve practical exercises for calculation of gross and net price of bonds, duration and convexity. Examination: written and oral.
