Course objectives
Banking I (SDBK) The objective of the course is to acquaint distance-learning students with the basic characteristics and descriptions of the individual functions of the banking system. Main problem areas: - The importance of banking and the position of banks in the financial system (the structure of the banking system and relations between the Central Bank, commercial banks and other financial institutions). - Characteristics of the principal standards in banking operations, bank management and efficiency criteria of banking operations. - The basic banking operations and the chief principles of bank assets and liabilities management. - Monetary policy and the international monetary institution. Examination: oral.
