Course objectives
The Diploma Seminar is an opportunity for students to become familiar with how to approach writing the thesis as the processing of professional work. They will learn how to elaborate the thesis through a project they are bound to prepare on their own. In the ninth semester, as part of the KHDIPS seminars and KHDIPS diploma seminars designed for combined follow-up study, they get familiar with how to formulate the objectives of a thesis and choose the appropriate methods.
Moreover they will learn to quickly and correctly read and process information sources. They will also get familiar with how to methodically properly prepare, implement and evaluate the empirical investigation and to formulate recommendations that result from them. In the tenth semester they will gain further knowledge of the fundaments of professional-style writing at KH DIPS seminars and KH DIPS diploma workshops for the combined follow-up study.
They will learn how to choose the correct strategy and tactics of writing a scholarly text while keeping to the principles of publishing ethics. During the seminars students will also get familiar with the principles of how to present the thesis correctly during its defence with the objective of being ale to implement the skills in practice.
Syllabus
  • 1st KH DIPS seminar OPENING INFORMATIVE LECTURE II 2-3rd KH DIPS seminars INDIVIDUAL POT PRESENTATION - as the result of the diploma paper projects and discussion about their methodical characteristics (to be also discussed in all other seminars) Concerning 2-5th seminars: INDIVIDUAL STUDY OF RECOMMENDED LITERATURE of each particular theme presented at the opening lecture II - time schedule of self-study is selected individually by students POT ELABORATION - as the result of the diploma paper and its formulation in diploma paper and preparation for its presentation in one of the seminars The POT will contain formulation of the results of the diploma paper; namely formulation of the results of the diploma paper as the solution to a managerial problem of a particular, previously assigned, kind.

Assessment methods
- ELABORATION of a POT (work amended by tutor) - formulation of the results of diploma work (as a solution to a managerial problem)
- SENDING POT to the tutor no later than 1. April (Alternatively, the presentation of the POT)
- ACCEPTANCE of the POT by tutor (evaluated as methodically suitable and available for processing the diploma work).
In case of acceptance of the POT by tutor, accreditation is granted.
