Assessment methods
Lectures are held on dates set out for the semester. Activities like preparation for lectures, doing individual seminar work in the field of decision-making strategic analysis, the study of selected case studies and the selection of specific case studies to determine the proper decision-making strategy are continuous due to the very active nature of teaching. The course is successfully completed and students receive credits for the course after presenting seminar work and evaluating five selected case studies according to given instructions. Students must present a seminar work and resolve five selected case studies to complete the course successfully. The teacher will evaluate the seminar work and selected case studies. The combined bachelor studies schedule: Seminar participation: students will get familiar with the course, its requirements, instructions on self-study and methods of working out their own case studies. Basic information concerning the topic of management and strategic management will be revised. Self-study: the study of case studies, assessment of the application of decision-making strategies, preparation of indvidual case studies Presentation of students’ own case studies: based on studies of typical case studies students will present short case studies of their own focusing on the decision-making strategy. Evaluation: each student selects a minimum of 5 case studies, which are closely linked to his/her nature or professional profile, and evaluates them according to the instructions given, submits his/her own case study focusing on the decision-making strategy. The length of the work should not exceed two pages. System of checking knowledge (the requirements for completion of the course): Attendance - lectures are not compulsory except the one, where the student will present the assigned seminar work. Students are obliged to work out and present one seminar work – working out a strategic decision analysis in a form of seminar work. The quality of the seminar work will be taken into account at the final evaluation. The second condition is to devise correct solutions to 5 selected case studies from the Case Studies publication. Failure to submit written seminar work and solutions to at least 5 case studies taken over from the Case Studies publication without an approproate excuse is considered a failure to comply with requirements whose fulfilment is a prerequisite allowing students to take the exam.
