Course objectives
Law and Finance (PAFI) The subject enhances the knowledge achieved in "Fundamentals of Law" and "Law for Economists". It explores the legal and institutional framework of the principal subjects and instruments on the financial market in the CR. The focus is on the interpretation of the current Czech legislation in the economic and political context. Attention is also paid to the problems of legal form, subject of enterprise, economy, state supervision over financial institutions and instruments of the Czech financial market. The objective of the course is to provide the necessary background for understanding the current legal framework of the financial market following the intensive amendment process in this field and the need of incorporation EU legal norms into the Czech rule of law. The basic orientation in the financial market legal framework is focused mainly on public law regulations. Aspects of private law ruling activities performed by financial market subjects (especially contractual relations) are covered in the follow-up course, Contractual Relations in Finance. Credit requirements: active participation in seminars and a written seminar essay Examination: written and oral.
