Course objectives
Taxation Theory and Policy for National Economists (PVDATH) This course extends theoretical knowledge of taxes and taxation policy. It explores the macroeconomic aspects of taxes, or the role of the tax policy in implementing the stabilising function of economic policy. Presentation of facts stems from the historical development of tax theories, which serves as a background for analysing tax principles in more detail. The focus is on analysis of various concepts, forms of application as well as possible limitations when using taxes as a tool for reaching macroeconomic targets. Examination: written (discussion of independent final essays).
