Course objectives
Information Systems in Public Sector (PVISVS) This course extends the knowledge in the field of information processes on the levels of the state administration, local government and public sector institutions. Students will be acquainted with the structure, content and the source of data in the public sector. The core of the subject is formed by the characteristics of public sector information flow, including the appropriate registries, their directors and co-ordinators, administrators and providers. A relatively independent part surveys the activities of the Czech Statistical Bureau, personal data protection in databases and the state information system. The course also encompasses solutions of selected problems in the EU countries. Seminars provide an opportunity to work with concrete information sources and to apply appropriate statistical methods in the process. Credit requirements: active participation in seminars, . Examination: written test and oral exam.
