Cíle předmětu
This course aims to acquaint students with a variety of tools and approaches that will help them:
develop a plurilingual competence at A2-B1 level of CEFR adopt intercomprehension strategies
In other words, in this course you will be encouraged to reflect on languages and learn how to use efficiently your personal linguistic repertoire (= languages you already master at different levels) so you understand languages you have not learnt in formal education or you have not learnt them at all.
You will also learn the basics of several languages of your choice:
French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech and German
Výstupy z učení
- deduce the probable meaning of unknown words from the above mentionned languages by identifying their basis or other lexical elements such as prefixes or suffixes;
- to orientate oneself in basic life situations and to respond to them adequately (even in another language) in order to achieve one's goal;
- work with the general meaning of short texts dealing with familiar topics;
- basic reactions in common situations.

Students from foreign universities (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Cergy Paris Université, OTH Regensburg) will be involved in the course thanks to the Erasmus + BIP (Blended Intensive Program) grant. This is a mobility scheme, where students work together in an online environment during the semester and then meet at an intensive summer school, which is the full-time completion of the course.
The summer school will be held in Brno, 25-29 July 2022. 3 credits ECTS
