Course objectives
The course objective is to enhance the students' skills of reading and writing, especially in academic context. It also aims at improving the students' grammar and vocabulary (approx. B2 level).

  • Lesson 1 - Student life
  • READING: Ways or reading; WRITING: Describing people; VOCABULARY: Dictionaries (parts of speech); personality; GRAMMAR: Tense revision
  • Lesson 2 - Daily routines
  • READING: Work and stress; WRITING: routines and procedures; VOCABULARY: collocations; jobs -er, -or, -ist; word building; GRAMMAR: Making questions - revision + indirect questions +reported speech
  • Lesson 3 - People and the environment
  • READING: weather (scanning); WRITING: describing our lives; VOCABULARY: weather; GRAMMAR: present perfect simple / continuous - revision
  • Lesson 4 - Architecture
  • READING: Famous buildings (making notes); WRITING: describing buildings (linking ideas); VOCABULARY: dictionaries 2 (entries); countable and uncountable nouns; houses; GRAMMAR: Revision of conditionals
