Course objectives
English for the Deaf (Lifelong Learning) introduces deaf and hard-of hearing students to the elements of everyday English. Students should complete this course having developed English skills at the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL), and thus being able to enter the course English for the Deaf which is for hearing impaired students the recognized alternative to any compulsory course of English run by the Masaryk University.
Syllabus
  • (1) Present tense; vocabulary and phraseology: greetings. - (2) Past tense; vocabulary and phraseology: interests. - (3) Vocabulary and phraseology: family. - (4) Vocabulary and phraseology: feelings. - (5) Grammar review. - (6) Vocabulary and phraseology: parents, grandparents. - (7) Vocabulary and phraseology: work. - (8-9) Vocabulary and phraseology: time. - (10) Grammar review; punctuation. - (11) Asking questions; vocabulary and phraseology: growing up. - (12) Pronouns; vocabulary and phraseology: people. - (13) Final test.
