Course objectives (in Czech)
Cílem kurzu je pomoci studentům se specifickými poruchami učení osvojit si dovednosti a strategie, které jim umožní lépe zvládat psaní textů v akademické angličtině. Studenti budou analyzovat typické příklady akademických textů (na úrovni stavby textu, odstavce i věty) a texty budou také sami konstruovat. V neposlední řadě se seznámí s technikami revize textu a možnostmi spolupráce se spolužáky (peer review).

  • Unit 1: Writing strategies, writing for different purposes, sources on the Internet (personal experience) Unit 2: Structure of a written text, introduction, main body, conclusion, organising paragraphs, links and markers Unit 3: Structure of a paragraph in writing, paragraph extension, connection of paragraphs Unit 4: Formal style and its features, formal writing, grammar structures and phrases in formal style Unit 5: Characteristics of final specialized/formal written text, proof reading, peer review
