Course objectives
Health Care Systems and Health Policy (DSZS) The course deals systematically with the principal models of organisation of the health care systems commonly used in advanced countries. Students learn to evaluate them by comparing selected aspects of their functioning, analyse their strengths and weaknesses and use such analyses in drawing up concrete projects of health policies. The main focus of attention are particularly the organisation of health care, access of citizens to health care, its management, quality assurance systems etc. Concrete examples enable students to study in detail the economic context of the work of health care systems as they saw them in the course Economy of Health Care. The course is largely based on students' independent preparation and research since they write and defend their seminar projects. Examination: the exam is oral and comprises defence of the seminar project and a theoretical part.
