Course objectives
The purpose of the subject is to acquaint students with fundamental trends of accountancy harmonization in Europe, directives EU and International Financial Reporting Standards. The intent is also to introduce International Financial Reporting Standards. Further more the subject is intended to be descriptive in matter of recognize and measure of the Financial Statement issue in unity with Standards. At the end of this course, the students should be able to: - characterize the general methods of harmonization in accounting, - use regulations of recognition and measurement of the elements in financial statements according to the International Financial Reporting Standards. - apply these Standards

Teaching methods
The course is taught 2 hours per for lectures and two hours for seminars. The seminars are aimed at solving examples and case studies, stemming from recognition of assets, liabilities, income and revenues in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Assessment methods
The subject is taught within the range of two lectures and two seminars per week. It is enclosed by an exam, which is supposed to be written and comprises of the theoretical part as well as the practical. Throughout the semester, there are two control tests on schedule. The minimal score tolerated is 60%. The students are also liable to perform one presentation, which is classified as well (passed/failed).
