Course objectives
Public Relations Communication (SDKP) This is a specialised course devoted to the problem of Public Relations. Since the 1980s, PR has gradually but surely become crucial for successful management of non-profit organisations. Yet, there is a range of organisations, unfortunately just the non-profit ones, which view PR with disfavour. The explanation often is a time shortage or no need of working with the public any more. However, it is an erroneous, ill-conceived, superficial and impractical position. PR s task is not only "working with the public", but mainly making oneself heard, preventive softening of possible conflicts, ensuring the other people s understanding of one s own behaviour aiming at maintaining the trust of "target groups". In short, PR makes a good image. Consequently, it is logical that communication is an instrument of PR, which is why it will be part of the course s general structure. Examination requirements: mastering of the subject matter. Examination: written.
