We assume that students of this seminar either teach some seminars of current semester orare making themselves ready for doing so in future. The prerequisite is a wish to get better in one's didactic abilities.

Course objectives
The core Aim of this seminar is support the PhD students in improving quality of the seminars they lead. Actual focus of lessons will reflect that. Partly we will look at the current issues the students meet in the classes they are teaching. Also the students will understand key teaching structures and best practices and apply it for their own seminars. Secondary we aim for creating a knowledge network - lists of best practices, possibility to meet with advisor etc.
Syllabus
  • Beside focusing on current issues the students meet in courses they teach, we will cover: - how to keep students engaged and attentive - how to adjust difficulty of exercisesů. - how to plan seminars during the semester - how to see what my students dont get - how to paralelize the exercise and get everybody working - concept mapping et.
Teaching methods
- open space, world cofee, action cofee (group working formats) - coaching - problem solving - discussions
