Course objectives
In this course students create a new alphabet based on a reconstruction of the historical script pattern. During the process students acquire knowledge and skills necessary for creating a script. At the end of the course students - will know how to analyze the given alphabet; - will be able to synthesize a geometry of an alphabet scheme; - will improve their abilities to manualy reconstruct writing systems; - will be able to compare a designed alphabet with its historical pattern; - will improve the practical knowledge in using various computer tools.

Teaching methods
Work in studio: Assignment, consultation, working on the assignment (usage of graphic software and manual conceptual work on paper), assignment completion. Students constult the assignment with teachers and take their remarks in account. Final presentation of the project in a digital form.
Assessment methods
Exam asessment based on a digital presentation. Assignment results stored on prefered medium.
