Course objectives
This Lecture explaines and compares commonly used graphics API. Students gain practical knowledge of using standard OpenGL API. They will be able to implement broad spectrum of graphics applications after completion of the course.
Syllabus
  • Aplication interfaces for Computer Graphics.
  • Principles of drawing and rendering with powerfull graphics accelerators.
  • Rendering pipeline.
  • Structure and functions of graphics API.
  • Data types and graphic primitives.
  • Coordinate systems, transformations.
  • Lightning.
  • Antialiasing, texture mapping, alpha blending.
  • Evaluators for Bezier curves and surfaces.
  • Additional layers and extensions for 3D objects and for the GUI development.
  • OpenGL Shading Language
  • API examples, OpenGL and extensions, libraries GLU and GLUT.
