Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with practical practices in preparing for the match (from the point of view of management and sport psychology) and the solution of crisis situations, which can occur during the management of sports matches. An important part of the training will be video seminars with practical demonstrations of refereeing during specific matches.
The subject as a whole is synthesis as well as some form of covering of partial knowledge, which the student had the possibility to acquire in the previous study and which are a necessary condition of the professional work of arbitration collective games.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - to know the organization of sports competitions in the Czech Republic and in the world - to use the lessons learned during the preparation for the match - Understand the principles of supervision and evaluation - Analyze the aggressive behavior of athletes and coaches - can practically apply the knowledge of psychology in dealing with crisis situations - Critically analyze the performance of the referee
Syllabus
  • Lectures:
  • - Pre-match preparation, equipment and referee equipment
  • - Organization of competitions in the world (F, IH, FL, B)
  • - Organization of Competitions in the Czech Republic (F, IH, FL, B)
  • - System of judges' supervision and evaluation
  • - Psycho-professional analysis of sports activities
  • - Referee's activity as an interactive, managerial and educational activity
  • - Typology of the referee's activity, response in the psyche: claims, consequences
  • - Claims for refereeing, psychological cognitive, emotional capacity (with emphasis on concentration, decision processes, aggression and crisis management)
  • - Communication in decision-making environments: verbal, body language, communication with the age of athletes (children - adults), minority groups, the outside environment. Types, description, solutions.
  • - Teamwork.
  • - Preparation for referee activity, psychohygiene
  • Seminars:
  • The main content of the seminars will be the analysis of matches and game situations.
  • Then:
  • - Presentation of types of concentration, self-reflection (exercises)
  • - Analysis of the aggressive behavior of an athlete, trainer
  • - Analysis of the current case within the FAČR or UEFA
  • - Comparison of the psychic preparation techniques of a referee to a match.

Teaching methods
Teaching is conducted in the form of lectures and seminars.
Assessment methods
The final exam is written. Students will be admitted to the exam if they properly present and submit a seminar paper (ie 60% - 100%) and pass a credit test. The evaluation of the seminar paper and its presentation and the result of the credit test form half of the evaluation (25% + 25%). Rating: A - 100% - 90% B - 89% - 85% C - 84% - 75% D - 74% - 70% E - 69% - 60% If a student commits any disciplinary offense, this behavior will be considered as not fulfilling the conditions for terminating the subject. The lecturer enters the exam in the IS with a mark "F" and the dean initiates disciplinary proceedings, which may result in the completion of studies.
