Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students of basketball specialization with the systematics of basketball game skills. Furthermore, to improve their methods of numerous individual offensive skills with the emphasis on critical points and fixing mistakes, and focus on the use of various methodical and organizational forms in training units.
Learning outcomes
When successfully completing the course, the student will be able to:
- prepare a written form of the training unit,
- lead the training unit according to the correct didactic principles and rules,
- teach the players (8-12 years old) the basics of the individual offensive and defensive skills basketball according to methodical principles,
- develop players' coordinating abilities in line with ontogenetic specifications,
- to distinguish the methodical and organizational forms in basketball,
- to plan a basketball training process.
Syllabus
  • Students will perform methodical demonstrations on the given topic (individual offensive and defensive skills) – the topic will be assigned at the introductory meeting along with the demands on the demonstration and credit requirements to successfully complete the course.
  • Students' methodical demonstrations are extended by a practical training for U8 and U12 categories.
