Course objectives
The subject focuses on Environmental education and the field of environment-friendly lifestyle. It deals with topics from natural and social sciences as well as consumer issues. It presents the basics of "ecological ethics". At the end of the course students understand elementary ekological and environmental terms and they have a bases fof environmentally-friendly conduct and further studies.
Syllabus
  • 1. Waste (global and local problems with waste, types of waste, recyclation, incineration, etc.)
  • 2. Education of "ecofriendly consumer" - organic food (intensive agriculture, BIO products, other criteria for food choice)
  • 3. Education of "ecofriendly consumer" - ecofriendly products (eco trademarks: Blue angel,FSC, FAIR-TRADE,recycled paper, no phosphates, not tested on animals, etc., other criteria for product choice)
  • 4. Ethics in the relationship of humans towards animals (vivisection, intensive agriculture, etc.)
  • 5. Atmosphere (greenhouse effect, smog, ozone layer)
  • 6. Energy (renewable and nonrenewable resources)
  • 7. Traffic
  • 8. Ecological impact
  • 9. Ideas and work of eminent personalities dealing with the issue
  • 10. Terms
  • 11. Global ecological problems (decline in biodiversity, rainforests, etc.)
