Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit the aim of the subject is to provide students with information about the origins and principles of personality social development as an ideal, the fulfillment of which is directed by the efforts of the vast majority of so-called helping professions. In this respect, the lessons will focus mainly on the ability of students to use the acquired knowledge in other related subjects, such as Fundamentals of Working with the Group and Experiential Pedagogy, respectively in future graduate practice. Consequently, concepts of personality-based social development will be linked to the principle of experience-reflective learning, which represents a complex and fully-fledged learning platform that enables knowledge to be effectively and efficiently convey knowledge, learn skills, influence thinking (attitudes, values) and model behavior in the most general sense. During the course the students will gradually become acquainted with modern educational concepts from the rich roots of pedagogical history, especially J. Dewey, K. Lewin and D. Kolba. From current thought sources, currents and trends, attention will then be paid to an emphasis on the reflection process of learning experience. Students gain theoretical knowledge and apply them on a practical three-day course using activities and principles related to personality social development.
