Course objectives
The course is designed as simulation of Security Council of UN. The course will be divided into 4 blocks dealing with four case studies (Burma, rape as a mean of war in DRC,Transnistria, Georgia). The students will be acquianted with the rules of procedure at the highest body of the UN and at the end of the course the students shall be able to analyse and evaluate the UN crisis management and be prepared for potential job at the UN.

  • Simulation of the SC of the UN. Case studies: Myanmar (Burma), rape as a means of war in DRC, Transnistria, Georgia.

Teaching methods
simulation of the crisis and the conflict management at the UN Security Council. Students have to prepare in advance for the given case and the assigned country.
Assessment methods
Students have to write 4 position papers (stance of the respective country to the issue, min. 3 pages, each 22,5 points).Students must participate actively at the MUN sessions - 22.5 points max.)
