- Course objectives
- At the end of the course, students will be acquainted with fundamentals of social science research. They will be able to understand social science literature and have a good overview of social science research methods. They will also be able to prepare a research proposal and effectively plan their research.
- Learning outcomes
- The course will provide basic overview of social science research methods and will prepare students for conducting their own research.

- 1) Introduction + Theory and Methoda + Ethics (ch. 1, 2 and 3) 2) Research Questions + From Research Questions to Data (ch. 4 and 5) 3) Literature Searching and Reviewing + The Internet and Research (ch. 6 and 13) 4) QL (ch. 7, 8 and 9) 5) QN (ch. 10, 11 and 12) 6) MM and Evaluation + Writing (ch. 13 and 14)

- Assessment methods
- The course consists of six seminars including class discussions. Students are expected to read all compulsory readings to actively participate in class discussions. In order to successfully pass the course, students must fulfill ALL requirements: 1) Actively participate at all seminars; 2) Present their research proposal; 3) Submit their research proposal in writing.
