Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the question of energy security of the EU and with mutual energy relations between the EU and its suppliers as well. Thanks to successful completion of the course students will be able to analyze actors and characteristics of energy policy of the European Union in all its three basic dimensions - competition on the internal market, environmental issues connected to the energy and security of external supplies. Moreover students will be able to evaluate and summarize the main energy problems related to the EU. Finally, students will be able to make reasoned decisions about the up to date questions of the energy politics of the EU and member states.
Learning outcomes
Students will be introduced to the main theoretical concepts, actors, historical development and actual problems in all these three dimensions. Finishing the course they will be able to analyze relevant issues having proper analytical tools and valid data.
