Course objectives
The course is directed on the energy security question and geopolitical impacts dependency of developed countries on energy sources located out of their territory. By application of the comparative method there will be demonstrated the relations among the world centers of the economic growth and the biggest producers of the key row energy materials. At the first part of the course there will be provided an analyses and the discussion about the structure of the energy sources which are using the developed countries (G7) for achieving their goals. On the base of this analyses there will be identified the main risky factors that influences their energy security. First of all there will be analyzed how much are these states dependant on the import of energy carriers and which commodities they are. There will be traced the trends in developing of energy security regarding to the world growth of energy consumption and development of the energy carriers exporting countries. To the compare analyze there will be included different strategies are choosing for the providing their own energy security the individual states (USA) and state union (EU). In connection with dominant representation of oil and natural gas as the main energy commodities there will be paid special attention on the oil exporters and their actions within OPEC and also the influence of the drilling policy of these states on the world prices and GDP making in such exporters as for exp. Russia. There is also included the question of stable and safe transport of the energy resources from home states to consumers.

Trends in energy consumption and the centers of the world economic development. 4. Oil as the source of wealth and reason for the war. 5. OPEC, oil prices and the growth of GDP: producers vs. consumers 6. Persian gulf and the attempts to take the biggest slice of the oil “cake”. 7. Dispute on oil wealth of the Caspian Sea. 8. natural gas – commodity of the global energy market: gas pipelines and LNG in geopolitics of powers 9. Conventional resources and renewable sources of energy. 10. Energy security and strategy of its providing on the side of USA 11. Energy security and strategy of its providing on the side of EU. 12. Energy security out of EuroAmerican region.

Assessment methods
The grading will be given on the base of general point evaluation which is present during the performance of the course. In order to gain the grading it is necessary active presence at the seminars, passing the continuous and credit tests.
