Course objectives (in Czech)
The purpose of this course is to understand, analyze and self-apply the use of the term Resilience at its different levels and categories. During the course we will examine how the term Resilience is related (or not) to 'adjacent' terms, such as: Coping, adjustment, adaptation, overcoming etc'. We will use several case-studies and discuss comparisons as well as distinctiveness.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Session 1 -- Concepts, definitions, categories. Session 2 -- Individual Resilience: discussion + case study (film). Session 3 – Individual Resilience, stress & coping: discussion + students' reflections. Session 4 -- National/social resilience: The Israeli case. Session 5 -- National/social resilience: international comparison (by students). Session 6 – Summary, conclusions, take-home reflections.
