Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The goal of the course is to introduce students to political science. Students will be introduced to key concepts of political science, history of political ideas, forms of political systems, debate about democracy, and politics in general.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction 2. Political science - definition, subject, functions. Development of the political science and political thinking. 3. Political ideologies. 4. Political radicalism and extremism. 5. Political systems of democratic states. 6. Nondemocratic regimes. 7. Electoral systems. 8. Political parties and party systems. 9. Free week for reading literature. 10. Political system of the Czech Republic. 11. Party system of the Czech Republic. 12. Elections in the Czech Republic: electoral system, parties' support, electoral campaign and electoral geography. 13. First date of examination.
