Cíle předmětu
This course is taught entirely in English. Students will:
a) Engage in critical reading of selected texts concerning cultural psychology theorizing and research,
b) develop their own understanding of significant relevant topics, discuss the above constructively with classmates, and apply the understandings they develop to the group projects they will present within class sessions.
Class lectures will cover basic theorizing and methodological approaches that pertain to the discipline of cultural psychology in general, with a few specific topics used as case-examples. Additionally, in each class after the first session, groups of students will make their presentations about particular aspects of cultural psychology and/or issues explored within the discipline, which they can choose according to their own interests.
Výstupy z učení
After completing this course students will be able to:
- understand basic issues in cultural psychology and their implications for psychology;
- take into their psychological thinking the cultural differences regarding selected psychological characteristics, processes, and functioning.

Lectures, readings, group presentations, discussion.
Metody hodnocení
Active class participation showing preparedness and familiarity with the assigned readings,constructive contributions to discussions facilitated by contributions timely submitted via the MU IS, and the class project presentation count towards 50% of the final course grade. The other 50% of the grade will result from a written final exam.
