Course objectives
For several neuroimaging techniques, students will learn about the basics behind the neurophysiological underpinnings and current applications of the technique in psychological research. Students will gain an understanding of the pros (i.e. how each technique has contributed to our knowledge of brain-behaviour relationships) and cons (i.e. spatial/temporal limitations) of each technique.
Syllabus
  • The lectures are organised as follows:
  • 1. Neuropsychology
  • 2. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • 3. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI)
  • 4. Electroencephalography (EEG)
  • 5. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
  • 6. Combining techniques (e.g. TMS with MRI/fMRI)
  • 7. Revision/Discussion
