Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain current social, political and ethnic processes at the external EU borders.
Syllabus
  • 1) Introduction to the course .
  • 2) Borders of culture and state.
  • 3) Making eastern Polish border.
  • 4) Materialization and symbolization of borders.
  • 5) Making borders.
  • 6) Global cross-border petty traders.
  • 7) Power at the EU border. Interstitiality.
  • 8)Global flows and local frictions.
  • 9) Transnationalism.
  • 10) Spaciality and fluidity.
