A) students have completed 20 credits (students are not in the first semester). Registration for the course will be based on the teacher's consent (subject to the assumptions, based on the result of motivational interview as the capacity of course). Maximum number of students - 10.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is self-knowledge, personal growth and development, working in and with interactions. To deepen the understanding of oneself and others, one's own personal prerequisites for the profession, the importance of the knowledge and skills acquired through study.
Learning outcomes
The competences in question are the increase of the ability to apply the theories of the field in the performance of the profession; the strengthening of the strength of one's own subjectivity, genuineness, empathy; the strengthening of the perception of the boundaries of professional and personal life, strengths and weaknesses; the development of awareness of the importance of one's own opinions, attitudes, values crucial for the performance of the profession.
Syllabus
  • The course is initiated by students submitting an application for consent to enrol via IS MUNI after registering for the course and this step is enrolling for a personal individual interview about their motivation to take the course (15-20 min.). Students will bring to the interview a text (of approximately one standard page of 250-300 words) answering the question "Why do I want to take the self-experience group?". Selected students will be given permission to enroll. Consent will be granted with respect to the motivation interview, upon completion of prerequisites, with respect to capacity in the course. By enrolling in the course, students agree to abide by the rules customary in the professional helping professions environment, especially confidentiality.

Teaching methods
The course is conducted in one or two group blocks, the group lasts 100 minutes. The course consists of group meetings during the semester with discussion of topics raised by the participants concerning various aspects of the students' study, work and personal life. The group leaders place these topics in the context of the educational and working process of the trainees in particular. During the group work, the aim is to strengthen personal and professional identity through a direct insight into oneself, the insight of others and of others, gaining and/or deepening orientation in interactions. Techniques used - free association, discussion, feedback, reflection, interpretation, transference and countertransference analysis, corrective experience. Students are excused in advance for absence from group sessions via email to the group leader. Students have the opportunity to request an individual session.
Assessment methods
The course is successfully completed after completing at least 10 of the 12 scheduled group sessions. Preparation of a journal/seminar paper after each session - as a free text of at least 1 standard page with thoughts, feelings, impressions, observations, etc. from the groups and uploaded to ISMUNI within 10 days. Students write the diary even if absent. Develop a final essay based on the group experience, journals and literature. The deadline for submission is the Monday preceding the final groups. The required length of the final essay is 2500 (+-250) words. The structure of the thesis is posted in the IS MU. The topic of the final block is a summary of the course using the thesis. Final groups are compulsory.
