Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to give the set of knowledge in the sociological conception of law as a essential methodological approach to law; to introduce to social context of the mechanism of legal regulation from legal policy to the sphere of realization of law and efficacy of law. Sociology of law studies the relationship between law and society, the mechanism of law in action to society, functions and purposes of law in society, efficacy of law, relation between law – legal consciousness – legal behaviour, issues of social deviancy and social control. Subject fulfills important propedeutic role in the study of law.

  • Definition of sociology of law. Great authors and main lines of sociology of law. Socio-cultural system and law. Law in social reality. Law and social groups. Social deviancy and social control. Methods in the study of law.
