Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the development of basic institutes of private law according to the individual branches of private law.
Syllabus
  • Concept of private law and its development. Selected institutes of Roman private law and perception of Roman law. Theory of split ownership, property law, possession. Feudal law, rent charge, land tenure, the right of the lien. Law of succession and its development. Gradual removal of legal particularism and modern codifications. Universal civil code and further codifications of civil law. Development of family and marriage law. Development of business and exchange law. Development of trade law.
