The students are expected to build on the work done during the previous terms. The course aims to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral. The students are expected to show their command of English in writing as well as orally. They are expected to reach at least B2 level, present their academic skills, and guide their legal English expertise.

At the end of the course, students will be able to prepare and deliver a well-structured presentation with the use of visual aids on a specialized topic. They will be exposed to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral, so that by the end of this semester they will be ready to take the final examination.

Assessment methods
The course is completed with an examination consisting of three parts: a graded team oral presentation given in class during the course, a written test and an oral examination. To be allowed to take the written test and, subsequently, the oral exam, the students are required to participate actively in class, give a graded oral team presentation on a legal topic in front of a peer group, and complete a written task (Continuous assessment). Written test: 90 minutes - listening - reading comprehension - language-focus and grammar (translation in the context, sentence transformation) - writing (letter/email/memorandum) Oral Part: - explaining terms and discussion on a given legal topic: Introduction to Law and Its Sources, Civil and Criminal Procedure + Judicial Institutions, Legal professions, Contracts, Criminal law and procedure, Torts, Property, Trusts, Intellectual Property, Company Law, Sale of Goods, Family Law, Civil Procedure, Employment Law, Civil Rights, Human Rights.

The course is ended by examination which consists of two parts: written test and oral examination. To be allowed to take the written test the students are required to participate actively in class and give an oral presentation of a legal topic in front of a peer group (Continuous assessment). Written test: 90 minutes - listening - reading comprehension - language-focus and grammar (translation in the context, sentence transformation) - writing (letter/email/memorandum) Oral Part: - explaining terms and discussion on a given legal topic: Introduction to Law and Its Sources, Civil and Criminal Procedure + Judicial Institutions, Legal professions, Contracts, Criminal law and procedure, Torts, Property, Trusts, Intellectual Property, Company Law, Sale of Goods, Family Law, Civil Procedure, Civil Rights, Human Rights, Employment Law

The students are expected to build on the work done during the previous terms. The aim of the course is to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral. The students are expected to show their command of English in writing as well as orally. They are expected to reach at least B2 level, present their academic skills and to show their legal English expertise.

The students are expected to show their command of English in writing as well as orally. They are expected to reach at least upper intermediate level, present their academic skills and to show their legal English expertise.

Course objectives
Examination consists of two parts: written and oral. Written part: 45 minutes - controlled cloze test (in the first part deleted expressions will be given in Czech and students will translate them to stuit the context, in the second part there will be underlined expressions in English to be translated into Czech - find a term for a provided definition - language focus exercises (e.g. sentence transformation) - collocations or terminology related to a certain topic - reading comprehension questions related to the initial text Oral part: text - reading, summary, comments and discussion discussion related to the topic chosen conversation topic - Law studies, Faculty of law, Masaryk university terminology based on texts in Law Today Topics: Running a business, The law and the family, The law and consumers, Employment law, Intellectual property, Freedom of speech and expression, The rights of citizens, Human rights, Enforcing the law, Internationalization of the law

Course objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to prepare and deliver a well-structured presentation with the use of visual aids on a specialized topic. They will be exposed to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral, so that by the end of this semester they will be ready to take the final examination.
