Course objectives
The aim of the course is to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both written and oral.
Syllabus
  • Topics for reading comprehension, assisted discussion and terminology 1. Law of contracts - legal acts, types of contracts 2. The European Union - founding, the sources of EU law 3. The European Union - EU bodies, the Treaty of Maastricht, the Treaty of Amsterdam 4. The European Union - domestic market: free movement, free circulation of goods, services and capital 5. The European Union - economic and monetary union 6. The Council of Europe 7. The United Nations 8. Asylum procedure, migration in Germany,forms of asylum, the Geneva Convention 9. The act on residence of aliens - the forms of residence permit 10. UNHCR - introduction to UNHCR 11. The European Convention on Human Rights 12. Final test.
