Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are: - to give to the students the multispecialty and systemic survey respecting Czech Law of generally Legal Persons, division to Corporations/Associations and Foundations, its private Law and public Law regulation, and basic knowledge about legal regulations of foreign not-for-profit legal persons. At the end of the course, students should be able to: - understand and explain the legal position of legal persons and also not-for-profit legal persons in the system of social relationships and legal regulation, - to apply the Law on Associations and Foundations in the practice
- to define the basic terms alegal persons and its categorisation, purpose and other features;
- to describe the developments in the area of law on legal persons in European Context
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student should be able to: Understand and explain the basic structure of the regulation of legal entities under private law (especially those regulated in the CC), as well as their position within the legal system; Gain basic professional knowledge, skills in relation to legal entities; Name the basic current problems and think about their possible solutions.

  • A theoretical, historical, and comparative introduction to the study of legal persons. Teaching methods
The teaching in the course has the form of conferences and self-study; the students elaborate, during the course, written homework, and present the individual projects. E-learning added.
Assessment methods
During the course, the students are obliged to write a semester paper.
The students have obliged to submit to the teacher the solution of case study.
At the end of the course, the students take a colloquium (oral discuss with the teacher).
