Course objectives
The aim of the subject covers fundamental system management pillars and its creative modification to public sector. The content emphases specifications of the Public Management within global trends in the Czech Republic. Student is able to work with relevant terminology, systemic thinking in terms of international standards of Public Management, apply fundamental principles and implement specifics of managerial approaches in non profit organizations.

  • System Management consists of three pillars:
  • Personal Management
  • Management in General – in conception of managerial components
  • Leadership
  • System Management modifications for public sector
  • Introduction to Public Sector Management (definition of Public Sector Management, convergence of public and private sector management, education of mangers in public sector and their roles and functions)
  • Characteristics of basic Public Sector Management systems in the world (with emphasize of European Public Management)
  • Municipal Management
  • 8. Management of non profit organizations
  • 9. Strategic management in public sector
