Cíle předmětu
The aim of this course is to present the fundamentals of European and Polish asylum policy and law. The course will address the issue of protection of third-country nationals or stateless persons, both with regard to EU and non-EU harmonized forms of protection. This will include an analysis of the relevant provisions from Polish administrative law which implement international and EU norms. The course will focus on the three aspects of the asylum system: institutional provisions (bodies, EU-wide administrative cooperation), substantive norms (forms of protection, rights connected with the status) and procedural norms (single asylum procedure, judicial review). The knowledge of the essence of Polish asylum system allows for an analysis of the similarities and differences between Czech and Polish systems in a the wider context of the Europeanization of law.
