Course objectives
The goal of clinical internships is the ability to apply the nursing process to gynecological and obstetric departments. Students will be able to: define the specifics of the nursing process in gynecology and obstetrics, identify the needs of the patients in the gynecological and obstetric departments, formulate nursing problems, and formulate nursing diagnoses, establish a nursing care plan, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and nursing interventions, evaluate the nursing plan care, use nursing and medical documentation in gynecology and obstetrics, and record changes in the condition of the patients according to the students' competencies.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
to understand the specifics and organization of care in gynecological and obstetric departments
to understand basic diagnoses in gynecology and their clinical manifestations
to provide nursing care in gynecology
provide care to a woman after childbirth.

  • The most common pathological conditions in gynecology and obstetrics.
  • Preventive and dispensary care.
  • Examination methods in gynecology and obstetrics.
  • Therapeutic methods in gynecology and obstetrics.
  • Nursing process of women in gynecology.
  • Nursing care of women during physiological labor. Techniques of conducting physiological labor.
  • Nursing care of a woman after childbirth.
  • First treatment of the newborn. Pathology of neonates.
  • Nursing process of a woman in a puerperium.
