Course objectives
The subject First aid is classify as a theoretical and practical with a superiority of practical activities in relation with first paramedical aid. Main objectives of this course are identified in the cognitive, psychomotoric and also moral and ethical level and could be summarised as follows: At the end of this course students will be able to: - express and explain the basic information concerning the first aid policy in the Czech Republic and according the law system in the Czech Republic - to know basic principles and rules acocording to the process of the basic first aid -to manage intervention and actions in the emergency situation -to learn basic skills of the transport of victims, of the dressing and bandaging of the victims and basic skills during the BLS (Basic life support with using of the elementary equipment with AED according the new guidelines of ERC 2015.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: define the basic algorithms to provide first aid
describe procedures to save people in various model situations
use an automatic external defibrillator to resuscitate the affected
decide on the correct procedure according to clinical recommendations and guidelines
Syllabus
  • Curriculum: - Meaning, importance and diferentiation of the first aid. - Legislation concerning the frst aid in the Czech Republic. - Chain of survival and the parts of it. - Examination of the victims in the first aid. - First-aid kit box component and igredient. the different kind of bandages. - Criteria of application and using of the special kind of bandages and gauzes. - Unconsciousness- basic life support with equipment (AED - Automatical external defibrilator) and without any tools. - Injury - Thermic - burn, coldnes - frostbite etc. - Injury of articulation, bones, tendon and spinal cord. - Injury of chest, abdomen, eyes, ears, noses,pharynx. - Rapid delivery - childbearing. - Polytrauma, drowning, intoxication. - Firts aid by the victim with acute hearth failure, stroke, epilepsia, diabetes. - Case studies

The tutition is situated in the skill labo where the model situation from the real life are simulated.
Assessment methods
The subject is finish by the credit.Credit is dependent on the outcome of the final test at 75%.
