Course objectives
The course provides an overview of selected key topics covered bz social psychology, which can be applied both in personal and professional life. Specifically:
- How to motivate oneself and others;
- How to develop one's self-regulation and learning skills and achieve personal growth;
- How to recognize and shape one's beliefs about oneself, others and the world that negatively or positively affect one's attitudes, decisions and performance;
- How to recognize biases and fallacies in thinking and develop better critical thinking skills;
- How to recognize instances of unconscious influences of social context on one's behaviour, prevent situations that influence behaviour in negative ways and facilitate situations that influence behaviour in positive ways;
- How to trigger positive attitude change effectively;
- How to recognize stereotypes and maintain positive intergroup interactions.
Learning outcomes
Students will gain an overview of current issues in social psychology, which they might be able to apply in their personal lives and future practice.

Teaching methods
Study of theory; practical self-experience exercises; training of communication skills.
Assessment methods
Full attendance is required; alternatively, the student have to submit an essay on a chopsen narrowly defined topic (e.g., how some of the specific knowledge covered in the course is used to address a specific real-life problem), based on scientific sources. Students are required to submit a short reflection on questions posted by teachers before each lecture. Final colloquium is conducted at the end of the semester in the form of an oral discussion in small groups.
