Course objectives
Anatomy of the eye: Structure of the cell, histology of the eye tissue, parameters of the eye, tunica fibrosa, tunica vasculosa, tunica interna, inner spaces of the eye, visual path, brain visual centers, blood and nervous supply, additional and protecting organs of the eye. Embryology: Stages of the eye development, development of the eye tissues and additional organs, born organs anomalies, hereditary of the eye diseases
Syllabus
  • Eye anatomy introduction, basic histology terms, anatomy of the eye additional organs, eye walls, anatomy of the inner space of the eye, anatomy of the optic nerve and visual path, visual cortex centre, main overview of the brain, motor, sensitive and sensorial innervations of the eye. Physiology of the vision, visual perception, disorders of the optical system of the eye, physiological contrast, visual acuity, convergence, adaptation, visual field, color perception. Physiology of the retina, visual pathway, topography of the retinal part, physiology of the photoreceptors, horizontal cells, hyper-polarization a depolarization of the cell, function of the ganglion cells, circular receptive field. Development of the eye a eye additional organs, born development anomalies, basic genetics terms (Mendel´s laws, types of the heredity)
