Course objectives
The subject of nursing is conceived as theoretical-practical. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the characteristics of the nursing discipline from the beginning of the development to the present form of independent modern scientific discipline. To define the basic terminology and nursing theory, to familiarize with the methodology of nursing practice. Define the hierarchy of human needs in the care of individuals and populations.
Learning outcomes
Student: - get acquainted with individual models and theories of nursing for assessing the client in health and illness,
- will be able to individually assess the specific needs of the individual,
- respond adequately to the needs of an individual in a model learning environment such as nursing practice,
- can practically apply selected models and theories on case studies examples.
Syllabus
  • Lectures: Basic terminology in nursing, international standard terminology The recipient of nursing care needs, environment Conceptual models and theories of nursing - terminology, key concepts (conceptual framework, theory, model); category of conceptual models, characterization and structure of the basic models and theories, their use and application in nursing practice. The nursing process of the patient in providing for psychosocial needs. Humanistic model: Madeleine Leininger - Theory of transcultural care Nursing process in a patient with sensory perception disorder. Nursing process in patients in the terminal phase of the disease, care of the deceased Spiritual needs. Multicultural / Transcultural nursing - characteristics, history, factors.
