Course objectives
The subject is focused on presentation of contemporary knowledge about genetic background of complex diseases. It tries to explain relations phenotype-genotype together with knowledge of molecular pathophysiology of generally pathophysiological states as inflammation, insulin resistance, obesity, stress and malignant transformation of the cell.
Syllabus
  • Lectures (3x4 hrs) 1. Genetic background of multifactorial diseases. 2. Molecular biological methods and their actual importance in clinical diagnostics and therapy 3. News in pathophysiology Workshop (6 hours in laboratory) "Practical minimum of molecular biology"
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Studenti vypracují esej na téma Moje disertační práce a geny, kterou předloží u zkoušky.
