Course objectives
The aim of the professional practice is to enable students to contact with the routine environment of medical laboratories. To familiarize yourself with the practical implementation of the quality management system in everyday laboratory activities (SOP-analytical, technical, logistic, directive, working instructions), internal and external quality control and coordination of all members of the working team (health technician, bioanalytic, physician).
Learning outcomes
The completion of professional practice will complement the knowledge gained from the theoretical and practical form of teaching of vocational subjects in the sense of interconnecting analytical, instrumental, technical and clinical knowledge and information into a complex output for a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for the benefit of the patient.
Syllabus
  • Clinical hematology:
  • Work organization, reception and identification of BM, standard operating procedures
  • Operation of automatic analyzers for the examination of blood-vessel parameters
  • Automated and manual methods for haemostasis (thrombocytes, plasma factors)
  • The technique of making and evaluating the blood coat (peripheral blood, bone marrow)
  • Lab. methods for the diagnosis of anemias and hematopoietic stem cell diseases
  • Examples of hematological laboratory findings interpretation
