Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to understand specifics of psychosocial care for patients with long-term illness, to understand specifics of psychosial care for patients with chronic illness, to understand specifics of psychosocial care for disabled patients, to understand specifics of psychosocial care for terminally ill patients. Simulation and practice psychosocial care with emphasis on autonomy and dignity of clients.
Syllabus
  • List of topics: 1)Basic concept of psychosocial care, multidisciplinary team, role of single profesions, basic principle of complex care.
  • 2)Social relations in health care system. Psychology of health care enviroment.
  • 3)Communication skills with chronic patients, simulation and practise of communication.
  • 4)How to break bad new? Information of patients versus information of family.
  • 5)Frustration and saturation of basic needs of chronic patients.Psychosocial aspects of pain.
  • 6)Psychologial and sociological aspects of chronic illness. Rights of elderly.
  • 7)Basic forms of psychologial help for patients with long term illness.
  • 8)Methods, techniques and forms of psychosocial care.
  • 9)Hospice movement and palliative care, multidisciplinary team in hospice care.
  • 10)Psychoterapeutic forms of psychosocial care,reorientation,quality of life.
  • 11)Euthanasia and asistance suicide, prevention of suicide.
  • 12)Death and dying.
  • 13)Counseling of bereaved people.
