Course objectives
At the end of this exercise a student will be able to prove and justify measurements on optometrist instruments in optometric workroom with relation of theoretical lectures.

  • History of the ophthalmology, optometry and contactology. Their definition and position in the world.
  • Anatomy of the eye, optical characteristics of the eye, adaptation, colour sense, binocular vision, physiology of vision, ophthalmologic examination methods.
  • Errors of the optical system of the eye

  • Refractometry, examination methods
  • Refractometers and keratometers
  • Cycloplegic examination
  • Subjective examination methods
  • Spectacle correction of refractive errors
